JONNY THE BARBER
A content program that moved a two-shop Buffalo barbershop into the men’s service searches it was missing.

- local SEO
- barbershop content strategy
- Semrush keyword mapping
- location pages
- organic gap analysis
- booking integration
The challenge
Jonny’s kids’-haircut posts ranked well, but men’s service searches — beard trims, fades, straight-razor shaves — sat on page two or deeper, carried only by a general services page. Buffalo’s local long-tail was also crowded with competing shops.
The solution
We built a blog program around the gaps: dedicated pages for each men’s service, posts for each shop and nearby community, pillar guides that hub everything, and informational pieces on tipping and haircut frequency, all built into the site’s existing static template with Mangomint booking links.
SEO strategy
Topics come from Semrush data: head-term clusters such as “barber shop Buffalo NY,” low-difficulty service terms and organic gap analysis against competing Buffalo shops. Every post carries internal and external links and an embedded map.
Design strategy
A monochrome, editorial barbershop identity with the “Fine Men’s Grooming · Est. 2012” wordmark and a bottom tab bar for booking on mobile.
