Why hand-coded, and why it matters
Most small business websites are built on page builders and themes that load far more code than the page needs. The result is slow pages, layout jumps and a site that is hard to fix. We take the opposite approach. We hand-code static websites: plain HTML, CSS and only the JavaScript a page actually uses.
Static sites are fast because there is no database query or page assembly on each visit. They are secure because there is no admin login or plugin stack to exploit. And they are easy for search engines and AI systems to read because the full content is in the HTML from the first byte.
For larger businesses we build Python-driven page generators that produce thousands of consistent, fast pages from structured data. See our work for examples.
Core Web Vitals: the speed standard
Google measures real-user experience with three Core Web Vitals. According to web.dev, a page is considered good when it meets these thresholds at the 75th percentile of visits:
| Metric | What it measures | Good |
|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | Loading: when the main content appears | 2.5 seconds or less |
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | Responsiveness: how fast the page reacts to taps and clicks | 200 milliseconds or less |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | Visual stability: how much the layout jumps | 0.1 or less |
We design to these targets from the first wireframe: compressed modern image formats, preloaded hero assets, reserved space for media and minimal scripts. Speed is not just a ranking consideration. Slow pages lose customers. See how website speed affects revenue.
Design that sells, not just impresses
A beautiful site that does not produce calls is a brochure. We design every page around one question: what should this visitor do next? That shapes the layout, the headline, where the phone number sits and how many fields the form has.
- Clear hierarchy. One message per section, in order of what a buyer needs to know.
- Visible calls to action. Tap-to-call on mobile, short forms and repeated prompts at natural decision points.
- Trust signals. Real photos, real credentials and real reviews, placed where doubts arise.
- Accessibility. Readable contrast, keyboard navigation and descriptive alt text.
We explain the common failure points in why beautiful websites fail to convert.
How a project runs
- Discovery. Your business, customers, competitors, services and markets. We review search data so the site structure matches real demand.
- Site architecture. A page-by-page map, with each page's purpose and target search defined before design begins.
- Design. Custom visual direction built around your brand, presented for feedback.
- Build. Hand-coded, tested on real devices, checked against Core Web Vitals and validated schema.
- Launch. Redirects from old URLs, sitemap submission, analytics and conversion tracking in place on day one.
- After launch. Monitoring, updates and, if you choose, ongoing SEO and conversion optimization.
Redesigns are where rankings are most often lost, usually from missing redirects. We map every old URL before launch so earned search equity carries over.
You will see the design before we build it and the build before it goes live. We test on real phones and browsers, not just a desktop preview, because most local customers will meet your business on a small screen with a weak signal.
Who this is for
We build several kinds of sites, each with a different job:
- Cinematic brand sites for businesses where first impressions drive price and trust, such as luxury retail, events and premium home services. Motion and imagery are used deliberately, with performance budgets so the experience stays fast.
- Corporate sites for firms where credibility closes the deal. Clear practice or service areas, real people and plain explanations.
- Lead generation sites built around service and location pages, with calls and forms on every screen.
- Interactive tools such as estimators, product explorers and comparison tools, used only when they help a customer decide.
Service businesses that need leads. Law firms that need to look as credible online as they are in court. Brands that need to stand out in a crowded category. Multi-location companies that need hundreds or thousands of pages without losing quality.
If your current site is slow, hard to update or not producing calls, request a free website audit. We will tell you plainly whether it needs fixing or replacing. Florida businesses can also see our South Florida website design page.
